Eliminate all sodium from your diet. I did say all sodium. NO SALT!!! and exercises. Walking is the best.

I am on high blood pressure medication, and I watch my diet to keep it from getting worse, but I would never go off the medication without permission from my doctor. High blood pressure has no symptoms, and you can put yourself into a full-blown stroke from not taking your medication. Be very careful about that.

You’re on the medication for a reason! Your doctor and the Internet can suggest ways of lowering your blood pressure. But, until your doctor says otherwise, STAY on the pills!

Talk with your dr and work on ways to get your bp down and keep it down. I made the mistake of going off my meds and my bp got all out of wack.

whats your BP like?
you may need to loose weight.
exercise regularly
clear your diabetes
inspite of all this it is NOT safe to be off your meds.

Fact: Withdrawal of some (probably all) high blood pressure medicines causes a rebound increase in blood pressure above what the body would normally be if it had not been treated.
For Beta blockers there is also an increased heart rate.
For Diuretics its a rebound in sodium retention
For centrally acting alpha blockers like clonidine (catapres) there is increased outflow of nerve activity (sympathetic outflow) that causes a drastic increase in blood pressure in at least 20% of people.
Changing HP meds requires a doctor’s supervision.

ONLY do this under a doctor’s care. You could stroke or worse. Your doctor will work with you. A lot depends on your body and how it works. Not everyone can go off blood pressure medicines.

Getting medicine in this way is not safe.
First of all get confirmed if you have b.P.
Secondly go to a Good General Physician or a Cardiologist for check up and take medicine as per his advise only. Do not take any medication on hearsay from anyone. It will kill you.
Thirdly, Reduce Salt (Sodium less) in your food. If you are above 35-40 reduce intake of Oil and fat.
Go for walking in the mornings at least for 30-45 minutes.
This will reduce your B.P. without medicine and make you healthy.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100% positive. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I think that what you published made a bunch of sense. However, consider this, what if you added a little information? I ain’t suggesting your information is not solid., but suppose you added something to possibly grab people’s attention? I mean How can I get off high blood pressure medicine safely? is a little vanilla. You should look at Yahoo’s home page and note how they create article headlines to get viewers interested. You might try adding a video or a pic or two to grab readers excited about what you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it could make your posts a little livelier.
