HIIT (High intensity) or steady cardio if i want to lose some weight and retain muscle for definition?

Im aiming for muscle definition, so will need to lose weight and continue doing weights. However im very concious on the amount of cardio i should do each week cause i dont want to be losing loads and hence lose muscle. I just dont want to be thin.

Am i better doing HIIT cardio say 2 times a week to help me lose weight fast and hopefully retain muscle, or will doing steady cardio be enough?

    HIIT is better.

Steady, moderate, low intensity cardio on off days from bodybuilding would be best IF you are bulking. If not, then HIIT is superior. If you’re bulking and do HIIT, yes, muscle mass will be preserved, but you’d have to greatly increase the caloric intake to make sure you have a caloric excess in the diet. You can not put on muscle mass without a caloric excess.
