Does smoking stop you from losing weight even when excercising?
Someone i know does lot of excercise, jogs in the mornings, evenings but is also a smoker, but he is not losing weight, is it true smoking stops you from losing weight? cuz i cant think of any other reason why this mate is not losing weight, he doesnt even eat fattie food, but looks like the excercise is a waste if one smokes, true?

Smoking doesn’t stop you from losing weight, smoking is an appetite suppressor…smoking probably isn’t the problem. He should focus on inches gained or lost rather than actual pounds (muscle gain…and muscles weigh more than pounds). He may also be at his ‘ideal weight’ or maybe his diet isn’t as great as he thinks.

you know even if you eat healthy you can over eat and when you over eat on anything you will gain weight. Although, if he eats right then i guess you are correct try to look around you know because i don’t see how that would make him NOT loose weight.

No, I can’t believe that, as I gave up smoking cold turkey but I still was able to lose the weight by eating more properly. If you know “well, they say not smoking will make you gain weight,” then you counteract it by eating less but eating well.—bettyk

fatty food may not be the answer it may be they are eating the wrong food bread potatoes ect they need to write a list of all food eaten and also drinks for a week or two and may be a bit shocked at what they are eating.
They may have a thoriod problem or some other problem.
Age how old are they as it is harder to loose weight when older
may need more target excersise on body as jogging alone is not good enough for them even runners do target excersise.
Smoking ususally speeds your metabolic rate up not slow it down.
So a food diary, an honest look at it evaluate it and target excersise may be the key.

There is no way cigarettes could keep you from losing weight. The only reason a diet fails is the person cheats when no one is around. Your friend needs to quit smoking to benefit from exercise. There are so many ways to quit smoking. You have to WANT to quit in order to be successful.
Be supportive of your friend in getting healthy.

smoking isn’t good for your health AT ALL it makes your skin spottier and damaged,i’ve known many people who have put on weight from smoking and dont have any energy I’m sorry to brake the news to your friend but the only way hes gonna loose any weight is buy doing what he’s doing but ALSO quit smoking believe me he will have so much more energy which he will need for exercise!
good luck

The subsequent time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I do know it was my choice to learn, but I actually thought youd have something fascinating to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you possibly can repair if you werent too busy looking for attention.
