Hi, I’ve been exercising for 4 months. I do see that I haven’t gain any weight recently, but I don’t see I am losing any weight as well. I am kinda feeling frustrated. Could some nice person give me some advice? I really want to lose fat on my waist, because it looks terrible. Do you guys have any good idea of targeting to burn the fat on the waist?

    You need to do strength training as well. Strength training builds muscles which burns fat and makes you look thinner overall.

    one suggestion would be to get Men’s Health…they always have alot of different ways to burn fat…i too have a few extra pounds around the waist…your best bet is to do alot of core workouts that focus on the your abs, lower back, etc….pilates is also a good source of reducing your waist line….if you belong to a gym, also might be a good idea to ask a training some basic core work outs to help…good luck!

    Be patient! It takes a while :-)I am sure that there has been toning of muscle even if you have not noticed a weight loss. Muscle is heavy too you know. Sit-ups are very good for toning the tummy and strengthen the back-muscles as well.

    Good luck!

    Apple cider vinegar pills are awsome and extreamly healthy, they will speed up your metabolism and it burns fat and lowers bad chloresterol level too, they also contain vitamins and are proven to help your liver ect. They work miracles and they are cheap I tried a cleanse once I suggest staying away it slows down metabolism and I spent 2 days in the bathroom near tears

    How many calories are you taking in per day? It really helps to keep track. You have to burn more calories than you consume daily. Your body naturally at a resting state burns quite a few off in a day. For men it’s more I think. You may possibly burn around 1700 a day if you were just in bed all day. There was a site I found on Y Answers that told how many you burn based on age and weight. So you should try to consume between 1400 and maybe 2200 calories for you a day and if your body burns more than that a day then it’ll eventually add up. Every 3500 calories equals a pound of fat. So if you burn 3500 more than you consume in a a week that is losing about a pound a week. And if you are weight training you won’t notice a large drop in weight because mussle weighs more than fat.
    I’m just estimating everything for you. If you do some searches on the net and even in Y Answers you’ll find some good sites.
    For calorie counting I think the site is http://www.calorie-count.com

    iits better u start doin abdominal excercises
    most importantly do cycling lots & lots
    which will reduce the fat faster.
    by making ur stomach size smaller
    the more u do , so u consume less
    which leads to burn lots of fat on waist…

    I definitely understand! You and I are a similar size (I’m 6’8″, 235lbs), and I’ve spent tons of hours working out, trying to keep the weight off my waist, which is the only place I seem to gain it.

    Here’s what I’ve done that’s made a difference:

    1) Consistent cardio (4 times a week, 30-60 minutes); to avoid boredom, I rotate through three activities: basketball, jogging, and the elliptical machine;
    2) Carbs in the morning and lunch, then protein, fruit and vegetables in the afternoon/evening;
    3) Limited alcohol intake (light beer or wine, if anything);
    4) Lots of stomach-muscle exercises (crunches, leg raises, twists with weights)
    5) Drink copious amounts of water!

    That’s it. Good luck!

    Forgot the posts on cleansing, pills, and all that other hoopla. Here is the basis of what you need do to to lose weight.

    1. Take in 500 calories less daily than what you need to maintain your weight. This will result in one pound of weight loss per week. (3500 calories = 1 pound of fat). Cut out 1000 calories daily to lose 2 pounds per week. Do not eat less than 1200 calories per day or attempt to lose more than 2 pounds weekly.

    2. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. 3-5 servings of plants a day is a good rule of thumb. One serving is about 1/2 a cup.

    3. Try to eat stuff with fiber in it. Fiber binds with fat and cholesterol and impedes absorption. Learn to love celery and oranges.

    4. You should not receive any calories from stuff you drink. This means soda or juices and all that good stuff is off limits. Drink plain or flavored zero calorie water or, if you must, diet soda.

    5. Don’t limit yourself to a meal plan. Eat whatever you want, just watch your caloric intake. Fat, carbs, cholesterol, sodium… all of that is irrelevant unless you have a pre-existing condition such as high cholesterol or hypertension. If you’re otherwise healthy, just watch calories.

    You might want to try a diet like Slim fast or South Beach. I am using a blend of both products, and I have lost 40 pounds since last January.

    As for exercise, do it for at least 30 minutes every day. You can do it all at once, or you can break it up into 3 10-minute sessions or even 6 5-minutes sessions. It doesn’t matter, so long as it equals out to at least 30 minutes. Substitute walking for driving when possible. Change your routine weekly, if not daily. Don’t just do one type of exercise. Your body will adjust and you won’t lose weight. Go from running to swimming to biking to whatever else you like to do. Include resistance training (weight lifting). Muscle burns fat like nobody’s business.

    And weigh yourself only twice a week, such as on Wednesday and Saturday. It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t see the pounds drop immediately. Do it at the same time of day and in the same state of dress/undress. Nothing is more of a downer than seeing you gained 3 pounds, then realizing after you just downed a pint of ice cream that you forgot to take your shoes off.

    Hope this was helpful.

    find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
    eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
    5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
    8 glasses of water
    have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
    have lean meat (protein) for dinner – repairs muscle
    cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
    dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
    ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
