Can I still gain muscle while eating at a calorie deficit but keeping my protein intake high?
I would like to gain muscle while lowering my body fat. I know that this isn’t a very fast process but nonetheless I still want to do it.

It depends on your training program.
Protein is needed for the muscles’ rebuilding processes, which mainly occur as a result of weight training.
Fat is burned mostly in aerobic activity, and drastically less in weight training.
If you try to do weight training without enough carbohydrates in your blood, your body will start dissolving your muscles into carbohydrates, and you’d get the opposite of what you want.
