Will 2 slimfast shakes a day help me lose weight fast?

I’m having no more than 65 calories for breakfast, either an apple or a yogurt and the rest of the day 2 shakes. Will this work?

Also i don’t normally have carbs and i noticed having 2 shakes is giving me 60g, does that result in weight gain?

I do exercise.
I plan on gradually going back on solid foods while boosting my exercise when i am happy with my weight. It should be for about 3 months.

You need more calories than this…There is nothing wrong with a slightly deficient calorie intake, but this is extreme.
There is no way you are going to have any energy to put intensity into your work out…..>

Get off of the slim fast and the yogurt, both have a lot of sugary carbs……..>

You have to have some carbs, but they need to be complex carbs such as pasta or brown rice….Yes keep these down a bit, but they are great for energy. Combined with a protein rich diet with veggies, your metabolism should get a jump start and start burning fat………>

Yeah I think it will probably help you lose weight in the short term, but it sounds like a recipe for a yoyo diet (i.e. it isn’t a sustainable lifestyle, and when you go back to eating normally the weight will pile back on).

First of all, you’re probably only eating 550-600 calories a day. That is basically starving yourself. You’re not going to lose weight doing this because your body is going to start storing fat as it’s not getting enough nutrients. You should be eating lots of fruits and veggies, whole grains, and protein. I have a slim fast shake each morning but I add fresh fruit, then I have a healthy lunch and dinner with fruit/veggies as snacks.

that is extremely low amount of calories for the day. You need to calculate your BMI (amount of calories your body burns during an average day without exercise).

It’s very easy to do online, and there are a ton of sites that let you do it for free, just google “BMI calculator” ,and then just put in your weight, height, and age. It will give you the amount of calories your body burns. Im 19, 6’3″ tall and 180lbs and my BMI is around 2075 calories a day. So on days when I don’t work out I try not to eat too many calories over 2075 so that I can stay lean and keep my abs, and on days I do workout I eat around 2500-3000 calories because I will be burning the extra calories exercising.

Bottom line is, yes you will lose weight extremely quickly, but with many health risks. You need to eat more food but instead of having breakfast, lunch, and dinner, have 6-7 small meals a day with veggies, fruits, nuts, yogurt, and chicken, or salmon. Cut out all carbs(bread etc.) and make sure your eating enough calories. You can go to – calorieking.com – to see how many calories are in a serving of carrots or whatever if you don’t know. Also many people don’t know that when they super diet like this that your body starts burning away its own muscle for energy and what was once muscle becomes fat stores, which make it harder to lose weight in the future.

So go get your BMI, and make sure your getting just enough calories to lose weight but, not to starve your body, and exercise.
If your BMI is 2000 calories and you want to lose weight eat 1700 calories and go jogging. This insures fat burn as well.

well it may help you lose weight but once you start eating again it will come back. the only way to lose weight is to change your life style. what you eat and when and exercise you do as to sustain weight lose you must look at what you eat and eat health foods with low fats

You’ve neglected that your body needs healthy food and enough calories to function properly.
Eat moderate healthy food portions, more green vegetables, lean meat and less carbohydrates/sweets
You’re going to get sick if you keep sticking to your ‘diet’

Surprisingly food replacement diets like Slimfast have some scientific support with studies showing not only that weight loss does occur, but also that it persists when you return to a more normal diet. It is always a good idea to add in some regular exercise as well though.
