Honey, If he is coming homefrom Iraq, he is going to be absolutly delighted to see you even if you gained weight! Don’t stress out on the small stuff! Take the extra time and have a big homecoming party for him with all his friends and family instead. I guarantee you will be the star attraction just as you are!!!

I dont know what you have tried but, I lost 8 lbs in 2 weeks from cutting sodas out of my diet alone! Also I drink lots of water and walk (uphill) every day. Change the portions of your meals, like eat on a saucer for dinner instead of a dinner plate. Make sure you are eating lots of fiber too!

I lost lots of weight really fast on the South Beach Diet. It’s good if you’re really that desperate. But unfortunately it won’t stay off.

If you want it to stay off for more than a month or two, you will need to lose it the old fashioned way. I’ve struggled with this for years – my weight has fluctuated between 150-180 for about 5 years with all the diets I’ve tried.

I finally found a free tracker (fitday.com) on the internet that’s given me some much needed motivation and a long term goal. It even helps me see how the choices I make are helping (or not helping) me reach that goal. True it’s not coming off overnight as I wish it would, but it IS coming off, and I’m learning how to keep it off for good. If you have lost between 5-10 lbs. by the time he’s home, he’ll still be impressed, and as time goes on, you will look better and better. When you’re done, you don’t have to worry about it all coming back the way it would if you went on a fad diet.

Also, I highly suggest Denise Austin’s Personal Trainer DVD and all the 10 Minute Solution videos, along with a 5lb. set of weights.

    Good luck whatever you decide!

I had an abscessed tooth recently ( not that i would recommend that to anyone!) and lost 10 pounds in a little over one week by eating soup and oatmeal. Because my mouth was so swollen – I had to eat very slowly also. Since then i have lost another 5 pounds by keeping some of those same habits. You will be amazed how little you eat when you have to eat one small spoonful at a time and pinch your bread, crackers etc. into tiny bites you can chew. Also, in addition to being low calorie – soup is nutritious. Don’t try anything drastic that will make you sick. Your husband will be thrilled with you no matter how you look!

    1. Drink hot to lukewarm water only during the day and always after meals. 2. In the morning in one glass of hot water add juice of half a lemon and tablespoonful of honey. Drink it That will reduce the desire to eat/drink sweets. 3. Chew food at least 15 times. 4. Eat plenty of salads adding 100 grams of sprouted cereals like Mung. Also eat two seasonal fruits + 1 glass of buttermilk.

Firstly. Don’t do anything for someone else. It wont work.
Secondly.Diets don’t work. Sure you may loose weight but stop the DIET and it comes flying back.
The most use full thing I could tell you, and , if anyone here knows diddly squat about food they will agree, you need only to combine your food groups. keep carbs fruits and protiens all seperated. No expensive fad diets or fancy kits to remove bits and bobs. Our bodies when digesting food produce acid and alkaline, now when these two are mixed one neutralise’s the other, This means that the body has to work so much harder to try and digest food and so it ends up stored as fat and can also cause gastric problems. don’t drink water for a half an hour before and again after food, this is very difficult as we have been programmed all our lives to drink with our food. all you succeed in doing here is diluting the gastric juices and once again stopping the natural break down process. mail me to [email protected] if you would like more info and some recipes. i did this some time ago and lost 28 pound in 8 weeks but the best about this is also that you will not go below your body’s natural weight and you can generally eat as much and as often as you like

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
    8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner – repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
