What would i take to lose weight and gain muscle?

I want to just use one (1) thing to both lose weight and gain muscle. Is this even possible?
If so what would it be?

    Muscle weighs more. Work out, you may gain weight but your body will slim down because it’s turning fat into muscle. Stay on a good diet as well. Cut out pop and sugary juices.

    Get a membership in the gym. Then decide how you want to look. Go there 3 times a week. Get rewarded with muscles and burning your fat out.
