    The more intensity you put in to exercise the more likely you are to become injured. Low impact, aerobic exercise is best if you are starting from a low level of fitness. Swimming, Walking and Cycling are fine examples. The only shortcut to fitness is the shortcut that you take on your bike route!

    Running. with a bit of cross traing with cycling and swimming. make sure to have rest days as they are hugely important
    and do someweights.
    with the running the best are fartleks and interval trainign combined with hills.

To gain muscle tone on your arms and legs you need to use weights, start low and gradually increase. Always check with your doctor before your embark on an exercise routine and if you join a gym talk to an instructor about how to use the machines properly without injuring yourself. So many people are using gym machines incorrectly. If you go to the gym then three times a week should get you fit in six months. If you cant afford to go to the gym then start walking on a regular basis. this is a great way to exercise, you are out in the fresh air and it is free. Tins of food make substitutes for weights.
