What is the difference between calories and fat calories?

On the back of many or most food items they have the number of calories per serving, then underneath it they have fat calories. Are fat calories added to the overall calories, or have they already been added. Thanks for any help.

a calorie is a calorie is a calorie. the fat calories are the calories from the fat in the food or drink. it’s part of the total amount. if the item has 100 total calories and 25 are from fat, then 75 are from other things, like protein or carbs.
