What is the best way to get rid of belly fat?

I have gained 2 pants sizes because my belly and only my belly has gotten bigger. I’ve joined a gym, but they don’t seem interested in showing me how to get rid of the belly fat, even though I’ve told the trainer that was all I was interested in. Instead he shows me arm and back and leg stuff and only one little belly thing that doesn’t do anything.

I am about 10 pounds heavier that I used to be. I try to eat right and only occasionally have something not healthy. I drink diet soda and water and stay away from High fuctose corn syrup and trans fats.

Any suggestions??

When we want to get rid of body fat, there is no way to specifically burn fat from one part of the body. Doing situps won’t burn the fat that is covering your abs and doing tricep extensions won’t get rid of the fat that is covering your triceps. The only thing you can do is lose weight all around and eventually the problem area will also improve. The way to burn fat is through a calorie restricted diet in conjunction with an exercise routine that will burn calories. Activities that burn calories include running, biking, swimming and other high intensity activities.

overall weight (fat) loss – because we cant choose which body part to lose it off
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
    8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast – they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner – repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
