When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.

20 lbs in 2 weeks? Check with your doctor first, because that’s very unrealistic. Personally, I can tell you what I did to lose 14 lbs. while in college. The bulk of lbs you lose will be water weight lbs. But, if you keep going on a sensible diet (losing 1 lbs or less per week, then you will probably maintain your initial weight loss)
Cut out all carbohydrate except one or two side dishes that contain AT LEAST least half the amount of fiber as there are carbs.
Eat lean, quality protein from dairy, eggs, meats, seafood; and, if you’re a vegetarian, the vegetarian equivalents. Make sure you’re getting enough protein. This is the formula to calculate how much protein you may need:
1. Weight in pounds divided by 2.2 = weight in kg
2. Weight in kg x 0.8-1.8 gm/kg = protein gm.
You should have Eat 2 citrus vegetables (like orange or grapefruit), or 1 cup berries per day.
Eat cruciferous (fiberous) vegetables (celery, green beans, asparagus, kale, etc.), not starchy vegetables (potatoes, corn, winter squashes)
Cut out ALL salt and drink Gatorade to replenish potassium.
Nothing to eat after 6pm.
Limit added fat (anything not naturally occurring in the foods you eat) to 2 or 3 tsps. per day
Eat one yogurt, and have one glass of low-fat milk per day
Take a multivitamin with iron and calcium in the morning and at night
Drink at least 10 glasses of water/daily
Walk or run at least 2 miles a day, or bike at least five miles a day
At night, at least 3 hours before bedtime, take a high-fiber pill.
Note: you’ll gain it all back unless you continue with a healthy eating plan. You can lose about a lb. per week if you either: exercise more, or eat 500 calories less per day than you already eat. (Reevaluate your calorie consumption when you hit a plateau and stop losing. This will happen periodically. Just reduce another 100-200 calories and you’ll start losing again. It also surprisingly will help you lose weight if you give yourself a week vacation from dieting and then go right back to it after the week. I do this once every couple months and it has helped me lose weight consistently (and keep it off).
