you need to be getting 2000cals a day but they need to come from a good source. eat lots of veg, fresh fish (not chippy fish) chicken, red meat, fruit and nuts, keep fatty and starchy foods low…hit the gym three times a week and you start seeing effects

I would say limit yourself to 1200 if you want to lose weight quickly and avoid sugars/carbs. When I wanted to lose weight quickly, I only cooked for myself and if I did go out, requested a house salad with grilled chicken, low fat offered dressing on the side.
At home, I only make myself salads, chicken, eggs but I eat cheese to curb any sweet cravings…like string cheese and it seems to do the trick. Stay away from all the processed “diet” foods because your body is still hungry and nutrition wise you aren’t helping it.
I have always been thin but come from a family of larger people so I’ve had to ALWAYS watch what I eat…if I even begin to eat “normal” for two days, I can pack on the pounds.
Good luck to you and also, try some yoga or exercising. My cousin, who is overweight but hasn’t always been, is doing Barry’s Boot Camp and loses about a pound a day following the routine.

Eating several (5-6) small portion meals of everyday healthy food, along with exercise, will burn calories faster and build your metabolism in a short period of time, without dieting or counting calories.
You will lose an average of 2 lbs per week
(eat about every 2 hours)
Meal suggestions:
piece of fruit
bowl of cereal (high fiber low sugar)
bowl of oatmeal
string cheese, summer sausage
cottage cheese/yogurt (lowfat)
tuna/turkey/ham sandwich (lettuce, tomatoe)
soup
salad
raw veggies
boiled eggs
popcorn
Always eat a good dinner (small portions)…fish/meat (bake, broil, grill) potatoes/pasta/rice, veggie…your body needs carbs, protein and vitamins to stay healthy…cooking with olive oil is best.
Low calorie sweets…sugarless candy, ginger snap cookies,
fig bars, 100% juice popsicles
Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses per day)
Drink milk (low fat) or 100% juice/green tea/water with every meal
(no soda pop or flavored drinks)
Stay away from munchies, fried & fatty foods (no fast-food)
Never eat before going to bed
“Daily” simple and cardio exercise (20-30 min. per day) like walking/hiking, running, biking, jump roping, swimming, jumping jacks, aerobics, dancing and playing any games that uses a ball will shed pounds, tone your body and keep it fit. You can start out slow by taking a leisurely walk everyday and increase your activity as your body gets used to exercise.
Food is fuel, energy for the body, if you don’t exercise to burn the energy, it turns to fat…fasting or skipping meals lowers your metabolism and forces the body to hold on to calories/fat, causing headaches, fatigue and weakness.
Losing weight at a healthy pace along with exercising everyday you will feel so good.

Well, losing weight quickly and healthily don’t go hand in hand. The best you can do is make sure that the food you eat when dieting is healthy food. Never go below 1200 calories or you’ll actually slow your weight loss due to a sluggish metabolism. Here are two suggestions. The first one is the healthiest, but the second one is the fastest.
First of all, my best suggestion is to learn to eat healthy.

That means understand the food pyramid, the food groups, the recommended servings, etc. That is how you should eat for life! If you eat that way and have 3 small, healthy meals a day and 2 small, healthy snacks, you will lose weight. Each meal should be less than 400 calories and each snack should be about 100-150 calories. Eating highly nutritious foods is the key, so think in terms of lean protein, veggies, whole-grains, fruits, low-fat dairy, and heart-healthy oils.
The second option is to do a short-term “drastic diet” that is designed to last for 2 weeks max. This would take off the most weight rapidly. There are several on the site under “Diet Plans” but my favorite is the 5-4-3-2-1 diet.

You get to pick what you eat, but you’re going to want to pick highly nutritious foods to keep your metabolism working efficiently. I was in your exact situation and was definitely tempted to go for one of those quick fix diets. Glad I did’nt because I came across a brilliant program which focuses on healthy nutritional eating together with stategically designed execise. The results, if you stick to the program, are long lasting. i.e. you are making a life-style change. Its worked really well for me!. Check it out. (There’s lots of great info here as well)

There’s a diet called “Fat Loss 4 Idiots” which can help you lose 9lbs every 11 days.

the most healthy diet plan out there that I know of for you is heavymotivation.com they require no pills no suppliments. you lose weight all naturally and they even have software that plans your meals for you based on the foods YOU like to eat. They are the most legit out there.

There’s a site called The Daily Plate that can tell you based on your height, weight, activity level and weight goals how many calories you should be consuming.
You can then log in everything you eat and it keeps a tally how much you went over or how much you can still eat. When you do an activity (walking, bike riding or even something like vacuuming the floor or giving the dog a bath) it logs how many calories were burned.
Choosing the right foods are up to you, but that is common sense….lean meats, fruits, green veggies, mustard over mayo etc…I’m sure you’ve heard it all before.
I found this site to be a huge help in tracking how many fat grams I eat.
