What is the best allergy medicine to take if you are allergic to dogs?
I have come to the conclusion that I am allergic to my 2 dogs, and they cause me to get very congested and have breathing problems (mostly while sleeping). What is the best medicine to treat this? I have claritin but it just doesnt seem to be strong enough.

First of all, go to an allergist and get tested to be sure that you are actually allergic to dogs and not something else. I though I was allergic to dogs, but it was really dust mites (among other things). OTC medicines were not working for me. I now take Singulair and Clarinex. They are helping a lot more than claritin or zyrtec did.

I’d talk to your doctor to get a prescription which would be stronger.
I have many allergies and tried claritin and zyrtec, neither of which did any good. Now I’m on allegra-d and flonase and they work much better :]
