What healthy treats can you recommend for someone who loves sweets but is trying to lose weight?

I have a major sweet tooth. I have (NEED) dessert after every meal I eat. I am just not satisfied with the meal unless I have ice cream or a candy bar or piece of cake to complete it. I am looking for healthy alternatives to help this bad habit. What types of foods are out there that will satisfy my need for sweets, while still helping me to take in fewer calories?

When our bodies crave sweets, we need natural sweets. Try berries with yogurt or make a low fat smoothie with real fruit. It might take some adjustment, but it will be much better for you in the long run. You could even try frozen grapes. It tastes more like a treat than fruit.

There are also a lot of low calorie popsicles.

Good Luck finding something that works for you!

Try sugar free frozen treats such as popsicles, fudgsicles, italian ices…….as well as several sugar-free jello deserts.

If you always crave sugar, you just may be slightly hypoglycemic, so I would also recommend getting your blood sugar checked by a doctor.

It is not unhealthy to eat sugar, but too much sugar is unhealthy. You could try mixing yoghurt, honey and fruit.
Milk, honey, and fruit contain natural sugars. Milk contains lactose, and fruit contains fructose.
Here are some recipies that you can make: (I love this recipe.) (Similar to ice-cream, but healthier.)

I hope it works out for you.

I lost 30 lbs eating yogurt, iced coffee cream n sugar, iced lattes, nutrigrain bars, and pb n j sandwiches along w/ half of a like it size of cold stone ice cream. I never have a lighter version of any of this. I always order the smallest size and careful of what I have the rest of the day. I can’t go without dessert myself.
