remaining positive over weight loss/getting fit?

I joined a boxing gym in order to get in shape and to compete when i am in enough shape.

I was weighed in 2 weeks back and i was bang on 20 stone.

This past week i have slipped by eating crap (to be fair i have been doing that for 31 years!) and wednesday night i went to an all you can eat chinky and chowed down.

So last night i weighed in again.

Ive put a pound and a bit on.

The coach was positive but i am really gutted. I know i now have to cut out sweets, fizzy drinks, cakes, takeaways and all that.

What i am struggling with is remaining positive over getting fit. Does anyone else have any tips for me to remain up for it?

ta.

For me, when I go to the gym I visualize how I will look if I keep going. I picture my ideal self after I’ve lost my extra weight and toned up. While you’re boxing just think of yourself as you want to see yourself if you keep going. That’s what really helps me keep going when I want to rest. Also, if you drink A LOT of water, you should be fine. EAt your sweets, but in moderation.

    Good luck! And keep boxing!

i have lost 3 stone in under 3 months. i was just over 17 stone, now im just under 14, my goal is 12 stone.
to be honest with you, you just gotta make the decision in your head “that’s it im gonna do this no more lies”
until you make that concreate decision you will all ways slip im afraid.
its hard work im not going to kid you, i only eat fruit for breakfast and i eat fruit and veg for lunch and have a healthy dinner (no more than 500 cals) and i go to the gym and burn off 750 cals every 2 days. i walk 2 miles every day and run up 11 floors twice a day.
so you really have to have the mindset that “im doing this” or you will quit about 2-3 weeks in.
    good luck

A pound and a bit?! That’s nothing!!!! You can get rid of that in 3 days! Give yourself a break my friend! It could have been 5lb or 7lb. Just really throw yourself into your work outs this week and really be good with food. Don’t drive yourself crazy though. If you really fancy something nice then have a little bit of chocolate or something, just control yourself. If you cut out everything and don’t allow yourself any treats at all, you’ll be setting yourself up for a failure. I’m not saying that you’re allowed to have sweets and all that every day, just don’t get to a point that I used to get to and feel like crying because you so badly want a piece of chocolate!! Try those OPTIONS drinks. There’s only 40 calories and they’re really chocolatey or SNACK-A -JACKS are another saviour. You’ll be fine. Focus on the end result and try to remember that food is not supposed to haunt us, it’s merely there to feed our bodies the nutrition that it needs to function properly. Best of luck Jo x
