Train your body to respond under different kind of situations, run, do cardio, and eat healthy, no other way around it.

running is the best training for the army, try filling a ruck sack up with bottled water or bricks and run with them.

regular running and weightlifting workouts at least 4-5 times a week…in addition, perform calisthenics on a daily basis (i.e. pushups, crunches, jumping jacks). In addition, try to eat at least 3-4 times a day to speed up your metabolism. good luck!

Play soccer. It’s a great workout and you also get to have fun. Look into something called the”brazilian warm-up”. It’s a series of streches/exercises that you can customize to fit your needs.

Personally I would get involved with a fitness group. They’ll help keep you on track better than if you go it alone. Remember that it’s going to be really hard at first and then it will get easier, but you have to mentally and physically push your way through the first few workouts. And don’t give up on yourself if you lapse at first. It takes a while to form habits, and exercise is no different. Try to do a little each day, even if it’s not a full workout. In the end, doing a little is better than nothing at all.

Check the armys’ website. They should have a fitness program for you to follow.

Alternatively try and get a copy of the fitness training manual they use.

And it helps to train with someone.

2 kinds of cardio: rythmic cardio & combat cardio
    – rythmic cardio (aka: type I & aerobic exercise) is basically running at a constant speed in which you will probably be running about 10 miles a day in the Army. With this, start running 2 miles a day on the treadmill set on 0 incline. Make sure you can perform the 2 miles with even steps and strides and that your not exhausted and can finish under 15 minutes before you start adding more miles and inclines.
    – combat cardio (aka: type IIA & aerobic/anerobic exercise)- this is best achieved while doing 2-3 5 minute grappling, striking, MMA with 1 minute rest in between. It can also be achieved when running on a recently made treadmill and setting the “hill” program.

    Type IIB/anaerobic exercise- Lift weights
Strength- lift more with less reps.
Endurance- lift less with more reps
