Is swimming an effective exercise to lose weight? How long until I see results?

How long should I swim for, per day, to lose weight? Also, how long will it take before I start to see the results of doing so?

    Some pools have exercise classes in the water. I’ve heard it is very effective. It takes pressure of your leg joints.

    first of all your not gonna loooose weight by swimming.~~
    your gonnna tone your body.
    its posssible to loose weight by just swimming cus its not cardio.
    && you are not sweating!!!!

    swimming does a little bit of everything. its a cardio and helps with your stamina. it also works alot of your muscles. it wont make you buff, but it will tone your muscles whichs gives you that nice cut body. i would suggest go for a about 30 mins. once a day about 5 times a week, off and on. then within a couple weeks you will see the results.

    I am taking a very effective water aerobics class once a week. The other time I use the bike or treadmill. It is effective because u are exercising and toning muscles u never knew u had. Try and use the treadmill for at least 45 mins before swimming, this way when u jump in the pool it will seem as if it was a reward for getting to ur 45 mins. Also in the pool u can do all ur stretching and it doesn’t feel like u are, It is very relaxing too.

    Try it 3-5 times a week and don’t just weigh urself, take measurements too. Some weeks u will lose inches too. Keep all of it in a journal and only weigh and measure once a week. U will be surprised at the results u get. It may work for u. that is what i do and so far so good. I have lost 13 lbs and 4 inches of my waist in just 3 weeks. Also eating right and trying to go to the gym everyday if only to get in the pool and do a couple laps…

    exercise everyday like jogging around the block
    skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
    Dont eat until you’re full
    eat fruits at night if your hungry.
    drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.
