I have now frozen in my weight loss progrmme? What can I do to lose more weight?

I am used to be 19 stone and 9 pounds. I am now 17stone. I seem to have frozen in weight, I have not lost or gained. I need some help to lose more weight. Does anyone know any plans I can go on to get my down to 13 stone by End of January 2008?

your question is to vague, not enough info about your diet, exercise schedule and progress to date.

Dieting alone is not enough, if you are not already you must do some excersise to continue with the weight loss. Excercise alone will burn calories and the fitter you get, the more your body will burn when you are resting (due to incresed muscle mass) Your body will get used to dieting routines so when you find the weight loss has slowed down try switching to another diet.

Firstly, I think I should explain to you why you have frozen. You must have first come up with a diet plan and exercise program. That worked for a while but because your body adapts real fat as in it becomes more efficient and it gets used to the diet level, you end up burning lesser.

Still don’t fret. The solution is to trick the body. If you do the same thing over and over again, it adapts but if you keep it guessing then it does not. I would advise to change your routine. Add more intensity to your workouts or cahnge the workout altogether. As for your diet if you already are eating lesser stick to it. Diet is one thing that you should not push too far below that required for normal bodily functions.

SO play around with exercise and intensity levels. That will see you some results soon enuff. Good luck

It is common when on weight loss plans to hit occasional plateaus. To break the plateau you need to decrase the calorie intake and or increase the calorie use by exercise. Any increase in calorie use will often shift you off the plateau.

The best weight loss plans try to get you to lose a maximum of 1-2 lbs per week, I often recommend 2-3 lbs a month, being that 2 lbs a month is still 24 lbs a year. It is most likely that weight lost slowly and sensibly will be the easiest to keep off. If you lose weight too quickly your metabolism begins to do major shifting resulting in the yo-yo syndrome of weight gains and losses, normally ending up with more weight after everything settles out than before you started.

If you started a sensible weight loss plan now you might lose 34 lbs by Jan 2008 but 56 is too much for most weight loss plans.

Another alternative bing used frequently now is gastric banding. I do not recommend this, however, as there have been several studies in the US showing malnutrition neuropathies (loss of proper nervous system function) following gastric banding and stapling.

Well done for losing this weight so far!

Like the other person said the information you have provided is very vague. We don’t know what you are actually doing right now.
Have a look at my profile. If you click on my website and complete your details I will have a much better understanding of what you are doing. It also gives you more information that may help you.
    Best wishes

I have recently lost 4 stone. I lost the first stone and a half fairly easy. But then it came to a halt. I joined a gym which accelerated the rest of my weight loss. It really works well and makes you feel so much better. That’s what worked for me.

Can you join a gym? Cycling is a good exercise. If not, then maybe buy an exercise bike which you can use indoors. Walk whenever you can. Swimming is good too. It’s very gently on your joints. The more you move the more calories you burn. Which all adds to your weight loss.

Just stick with it and with will power and determination you will get to your goal. Just don’t give up. It can take some time.

I wish you all the best.
