how to lose weight fast for an 12 year-old girl?

Hi, my friend is starting Gymnastics soon. And she’s quite upset about her weight. She says her tummy is quite floppy and sticks out. She wants to lose it fast??

    My sons pediatrician told me that cutting (losing weight) as a young teenager can stunt your growth. Tell her to exercise and eat healthy, and not to starve herself.

    Reduce the calorie intake a bit, but make sure she gets her nutrients. A great place to start would be cutting out soda, junk food, etc. These things have calories, bad fats, etc. And virtually nothing good in them.

    There is no way to lose it fast, thats healthy. If she is actually chubby or over weight tell her to just stop eating candy and McDonald. Her metabolism is fast enough to make her lose the weight on its own with out crazy diets. Be active.

    Losing weight fast won’t help, it is dangerous to loose weight too quickly and usually weight that is lost fast is also put back on. Weight loss only works if it is done slowly.

    Going on a diet to lose weight won’t work either because your friend will only loose weight while she is on the diet and then will put it back on when she goes back to what she did before.

    You can only loose weight through lifestyle change. The first step is to eat healthy. 12 year olds should not be eating lots of fast foods, soda’s, take aways, junk food and candy. If she cuts out all the stuff like that from her diet it will make a big impact.

    She also needs to be active and exercise, when she is at home she should choose to do active things rather than sit in front of the television or computer.

    Do not lose weight at 12 you are growing you can get terrible stretch marks. Exercise , eat right swim if you could this is the most complete form of exercise. At 12 you need all the best nourishment you can.
