There is no set value and it really depends on many factors….your diet, how active you are, your age, genetics, etc.

In general, you do not want to lose weight too fast. Assuming that you are eating pretty good, most people can lose weight with 40 minutes of cardio 3-4 times per week, and 40 minutes of strength training. You will hear slight differences, but this is a good general workout with moderate intensity.

It depends on the machine your doing, and how many calories you are taking in. I’d say 30-60 minutes.

I don’t know that there is any one answer to how many minutes you should be doing because so much depends on where you’re starting and what your percentage body fat already is (to figure that out, there’s a free fat calculator URL below). I think what’s more important is to understand how your basal metabolic rate works.

    Really, none cardio.

Cardio is the body’s ability to transport oxygen to, and carbon dioxide away from, the working muscles. Which is not losing weight.

To lose weight you need to be working out at 60 to 70% of your maximum heart rate. If you wanted to work your Cardio aswell as lose weight the best thing to do is work at 75% of your max heart rate. This is just above the cardio zone of your heart rate but will still work on fat burning.

Really you can do any amount of minutes but make sure you dont do it every single day. Working on a seven day week you need to make sure you have 2 days rest, not straight after the other, maybe, monday and tuesday working out, rest wednesday, then thursday and friday working out, then rest saturday then work out on sunday.
