How many calories should you eat post exercise?

So i know that after exercise you should do a 4:1 carb:protein ratio but how many calories should i eat at these meals?

Also if your not hungry is it ok not to eat after exercise? When i first began doing my 6 mile jogs I would be really hungry about 20 minutes after i finished but now after exercise i don’t really feel hungry. I think it’s because my body is getting use to using my fats but i don’t know.

Any tips would be nice and thanks!

    no, it’s not really ok to run 6 miles and then not eat, I don’t think that’s very smart at all. As you probably know your body absorbs all it can right after exercise, it’s important to get it what it needs right then.

    As fat as the calories I’d say it’s not all that important, but should be one of the larger meals of the day, you should just try and round it in with the rest of your eating that day. As far as the 4 to 1 thing I’ve never heard of that, I was under the impression that carbs needed to be processed before they could be burned and if thats the case then a high amount of carbs right after exercise wouldn’t help you at all, in fact, I’m fairly sure your carbs should come long before exercise, but I could be wrong.
