For one iam going to recommend you scratch the Microwave dinner diets…. Although they may work…. Fresh foods are WAY better for you… Fresh Greens guarantee more energy… There are certain calories you can CHOOSE to intake but mostly you should eat 5-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up!

There really is no strict set calorie intake a day… there are only opinions!

Calories = Energy used = same weight
Calories< Energy used = lose weight Calories> Energy used = gain weight

To know how much calories you need, you need to know your energy expended.

If you are not bothered by that, try eating healthily with lots of fresh veggies, lean meat and complex carbs. Cut your simple carbs and microwave dinners. Then you can put in more and yet lose weight.

Well, it matters how much you are burning in the day while you’re at the gym — and, of course throughout the entire day. Most people should eat about 2000 calories a day — though many athletes actually eat up to 7000 calories a day.

If you want to lose weight before school starts, just stick to a 2000 calorie diet — and do a lot of cardiovascular exercises. And please, do not use the scale is reference to how good you are doing when it comes to losing weight, especially if you are weightlifting also. Use the mirror.

When I was trying to figure up my calories taken in and expended in exercise I used an online food journal. The one I found let you select almost every kind of activity that I did and for those it did not list it had something very similar and if I broke down my meals I was able to figure out exactly how much I was eating each day. No matter how much you need to burn to lose weight never eat less than 1300-1250 calories a day or you will go into starvation mode and gain weight.

Calorie requirements are different for different people. In general, it takes 12 calories per pound of body weight, just to keep us at a static weight. So one guideline is to find out what your ideal weight is (in pounds) and multiply that number by 12 to give you a general idea of how many calorie you should consume daily to reach or maintain your ideal weight. If you are exercising a lot, you may need more calories.
