How many calories do I need to eat a day?

I tried the online calculators but they weren’t giving me the answers I wanted.

I am a teenager in the 14-18 range. I am 5’7” and 115 pounds.

First, how many calories do I need to eat a day to maintain this weight if I burn 600 calories a day?

Second, how many calories should I eat if I want to loose weight (10 pounds at most. I don’t want to be anorexic-ish)

    The maintenance calorie amount is different for everyone. I have to eat 1,800 calories to maintain my weight. Try 1,700 or 1,800. Check the scale in a week and see if it has gone up, down, or stayed the same. And adjust the calories if they have gone up or down, and if it has stayed the same then you have found your maintenance amount.

    As for losing weight..1,500 calories is a good amount to lose weight with.

    hey i was your weight all during my xc season! and i lost 15 lbs, and people asked me if i WAS anorexic lol. so i suggest you dont unless you want people asking. but i burned about 500-900 cals per day. my coach said i should be eating 2200 cals but i ate around 1,200. which caused me to go down to 105 lbs. which caused me to loose my hair, period, and it lead to a stress fracture from not enough nutrients. this ruined my sports for the winter and i gained back to 115. haha. so i suggest 1,800

    If you want to lose 10 pounds in 2 months then you can eat about 1,200 a day at your age, weight, and activity level. 🙂 good luck.
