How long does it take to build a 1lb of muscle?

I just started working out, I have kept my caloric intake the same amount as usual but I have shifted it to more protein. I am eating 1g of protein per pound of body weight. I was curious on how long does it take to gain muscle.

I weigh 150 lbs, I am 5’11”

And if I want to build muscle will I have to consume more calories than I am now or will I just need to eat more protein, since protein is the only macro molecule that is used in building muscle through via amino acids as building blocks. So it makes no sense to eat more carbs or fat than I am at the moment to build muscle.

Muscle tissue consumes carbs for power. To make proteins from amino acids requires gobs of ATP, which must be made from carbs.

when you body is conditioned, its about 1 lb/month. It really depends person to person.

Also suggest creatin. It worked for me. I was about your body type.

Main thing is, as you just started, concentrate more on getting to the gym and working out right. Results will come no matter what.

If you have an end goal and want to get there on the fast lane, you will just dissapoint your self and lose interest. Be practical.
