How do you lose weight fast and effectively?

I was wanting to go on a fasting diet but i don’t no how. I thought it might be a good way to lose weight if i only eat like one time a day. I want to lose weight fast because i think my weight is making me depressed. I lost 20 pounds over the summer but now that its fall/winter again i’m afraid to gain it all back and i would still like to lose more. I’m not skinny at all. I am about 190 pounds and just want to lose it. Thank you.

If you walk on the treadmill for 30 min a day and eat balanced nutritious meals i think you can lose 1 pound a week

I lost more than 10lb by changing my diet. Always drink tea instead of coffee. I rarely eat meat. Mostly tofu.
Drinking a lot of water will be very helpful, too.
And I run 3 miles everyday.

Hi Rachel an occasional fast can be good and cleansing for the body, but generally sustained weight loss is achieved by eating many small meals throughout the day.

I lost 25 pounds and have kept it off by adopting a whole foods, plant-based diet. It’s healthy and easy to stick to since there is no calorie counting, food weighing, or strict meal plans to follow. Moderate exercise is important too for sustained weight loss and general good health. Check out the site below.

Do NOT go on a fasting diet.

All that does is encourage your body to go into an emergancy storage mode. That means that your metabolism slows down and the body cannibalises itself, eating away at both muscle and fat.
Fat is the bodies fuel store. If it thinks it’s starving, it will work to store as much fuel as possible, almost at the expense of other systems. While this is great news if your trapped in the jungle with no food, it isn’t so great when simply trying to loose weight.

Plus, when you do start eating again the body will still be in a storage mode, so here come the inches you worked so hard to loose!

Instead what you need to do is find ways of boosting your metabolism.
Simply put, exercise and regular meals.
In terms of food, get plenty and I mean lots of veg into the diet. Stacks of good nutrients at a relativly low carb cost, plus the fibre you get will help slow down the absorption of sugar (which is what carbs are broken down to) into the body.
Avoid grains, although you’ll never go wrong with oatmeal.
Split your plate into quarters, on one put your protein source (meat or fish), another your carb source (brown rice, sweet potato etc) on the remaining 2 put the veg.
I also recommend having a snack in between the main meals, maybe fruit or almonds.
Regular meals can be small, but nutritious. The regularity of them keeps the metabolism going as the body never really thinks it’s going to starve, therefore doesn’t see the need to store the fat.

Next comes exercise. Both weights and cardio. Keep the sessions short and intense and the body will strip away the fat quick sharp revealling the lovely toned curves.

Don’t starve your self, it’s counterproductive and unhealthy.
We men like toned, curvy bodies, not skeletal wasted ones.

I know a diet plan that really works. It’s called the cabbage soup diet. You make a soup with cabbage, fat free chicken stock and all the veggies you want to add. Go for color like green and red peppers, tomatoes, carrots, red onions you get the picture. Be sure to buy a bottle of beano to take care of gas(important) For breakfast eat all the fresh fruit you want. This is really healthy for you, but it can get boring. I did the plan 3 days on, 1 day off . I lose 30 lbs quick and have kept it off. When I gain a few lbs I just go back on diet for a week. The veggies are good for you and your energy level stays high. Drink lots of liquids. No colas, but milk is allowed.Whole or 2% because you need some fat to keep things in balance. Good luck.

There is an amazing dieting program that utilizes your favorite foods over 5-7 small meals a day instead of 3 larger meals. This increases your resting metabolic rate, as you are always using energy to digest, and this energy is greater than the calories of the foods which means you are constantly losing weight when sitting idly or sleeping. This is the best option, and the program creates 1000s of possible diets for you with a 100% guarantee if you see no results. You can find out more at the link below. Good luck!

eating once per day is not fasting. besides, fasting is not an effective way to maintain your weight. your body needs fuel regularly (4-5 small meals per day) to burn calories and function at its peak. i recommend following this eating and exercise plan to lose more weight, and keep it off. it worked for me! http://www.ehow.com/how_4547444_lose-weight-easy-safe.html

    good luck!

Hi Rachel. Try reading this article on 7 easy steps to losing weight (http://www.ehow.com/how_4554104_weight-right-way-easy-steps.html). It may not be the fastest, but it is effective and healthy.

Also, don’t get depressed! Check out this video on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYhCn0jf46U)… it shows how unrealistic magazines and beauty ads are.

Fasting or in other words starving yourself is never the answer. In the end after all is said and done, your body will be in survival mode, holding on to all the fat it can, and your metabolism will be barely crawling. Maybe try this strategy if you would like to gain weight, not lose it, but either way it is very unhealthy.

Instead I suggest you seek professional help. Yes, this means money, no need to not be upfront about it. However, many programs like the one I will link below offer a 100% money back guarantee, so you can try it without worry and make sure they truly are professionals.

Don’t eat bread or cheese..very fatting. try to run or jog everyday. drink water or weight lost water(rite aid). sleep good. and NO SWEETS!
Altogether it takes about 3 Hours
Drink at least 2 liters of water a day
Don’t take any sugar – one teaspoonful stops your growth hormone for 24 hours.
    Eat porridge (oatmeal) for breakfast.
Avoid chips, sweets, crisps and anything you know is bad.
Eat pistachio nuts instead of snacks.
Also try fruit and vegetables (they give you lots of energy). Salad is also good

Dont go on a fasting diet. It may not be the best method. It can wreck your metabolism.

    here’s what you can do

    1. Based on your age, figure out your Basic Metabolic Rate- you can do this easily online.

    2. Your goal must be to aim for 500-750 (not more) calorie deficit each day through a combination of a good healthy diet and exercise

    3. Eat your breakfast. Research shows that breakfast eaters lose more weight than those who do not.

    4. Eat 4 -5 meals spaced out at intervals of 3-4 hours each day. This keeps your metabolism chugging well throughout the day.

    5. Once every week, do a high calorie or a high carb day. Give into your cravings, have that pizza slice. just to give your body a break from the dieting and help you to stay on the wagon.

    6. Exercise is must, if you want to keep the weight off and not just be subject to the yo yo diet syndrome. Cardio and Weight training – both forms of exercise must be included.

Again here, dont overdo the diet and skip the exercise. Our bodies are very smart. If they dont get enough food- presuming you go on a very low cal diet, our body tends to think that we are starving. Our metabolism goes down, the body then trys to hang on for dear life to the fat in our body. The exact opposite of what we aim for.

So eat well. Exercise well. Stay committed and you will melt that fat away.

    Cheers!

You need to eat a nutritional food, dont skip meals, exercise everyday for 30 or more. Eating more carbs give u more energy and their not fat, things added to it is fat.

For example pasta is not fat its the meat and the sauce that is fat, and replacing your meals with healthier and proper food might give u energy and lose u the fat, dont go with fad diets like the cabbage soup diet and the shakes and meal replacer bar cause they dont work they, dont burn fat, their taking your water away in your body and when your back on your proper diet, u will gain ur water again. Fad diets dont work. Losing weight fast is possible but its noT the fat ur losing, if u really want to lose fat you should take your diet slowly and do it the healthy way.

    HOPE THIS HELPED 🙂
