How do you lose weight and not gain muscle?

I don’t want to gain muscle because it will make me gain weight and not be able to fit into things. I just want to lose it and get toned a little. I don’t want a lot of muscle. But I’m scared if I run and do sit ups I’ll get muscular and look stupid.

Going out and running or swimming or riding a bike is not going to turn you into a body builder. Unless you want the skeleton look…. just exercise and eat well! Muscle is important we are meant to have it. You wont gain abnormal amounts unless you target specific areas and work on the area all the time. General exercise will not make you look stupid. =)

cardio, cardio burns calories basicly, you will gain some muscle but not to much, you will mainly just get flexability and gain stanima. try things like jump rope, swimming, jogging, or just walking, stuff like that, the goal is, is to burn more calories in a week then you take in

Female’s bodies are genetically made a certain way to not gain muscles like guys unless they use those PH pills and what not.
The only way to tone is cardio, different types such as jump rope, jog and then sprint for 15 seconds then keep jogging for few miles. Try exercising 4-5 times a week. Make sure you lift weights (you WILL NOT get muscular), this helps your metabolism to raise causing you to shed fat during the day.
Your # 1 best way to lose fat is to eat healthy, there’s good sites to show you a decent diet. Gotta eat small meals throughout the day to give energy. Losing fat = raising metabolism.
Also, remember this. Healthy weight loss is 1 to 1.5 lbs a week, anything more will be loss of water and muscles. YOU DO NOT WANT THAT!!!!!

You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it.

Then also try to find a well balance diet program. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it’s well balanced. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these.
