How do I slim down without gaining muscle?
I have been doing pilates to help me lose weight, but instead I am just gaining muscle… I’ve tried cardio (running a mile three times a week) but all that happened was that my legs got more muscular AND bigger. So I quit doing that. What should I do?!

Doing pilates shouldn’t make you gain that much muscle. Its only strengthening your body.
Talk to an instructor at your gym. They should be able to give you better ideas.
You should be alternating between cardio and strength training.

I wanted to tone my body and not gain muscle mass. I tried a lot of things but the YRG Workout was the best thing I found. It is yoga based but adds in mixed martial arts and other exercises. They show you how to engage your muscles to tone your body and build your core but not end up looking like Hercules! It is good cardio with no impact, my back has never felt better.
