How can I lost weight FAST?

I weigh just under 15 stone. What should I be eating to lose weight fast? I’ve stuck to the Weight Watchers diet for a week & I’ve only lost 1lb.
I worked out on Monday for 1 hour 20 minutes, and I couldn’t walk without pain until Thursday evening.

What food & exercise routine should I be following? Because clearly this isn’t working…

You need to start exercising more gradually and frequently. I’m just getting started on an exercise plan and 5 minutes on an elliptical plus 10 minutes on the treadmill was all I could take. Also do weight lifting. You shouldn’t focus on the number on the scale, focus on increasing your health and endurance.

you,re overdoing it. slow down. exercise and weight loss is a slow boat. i lose about a lb. a week on weight watchers. fast weight loss only works if you,re getting a limb amputated. i know that all of the womens’ mags make wild claims about weight loss. this is to sell magazines.

You can’t lose weight fast without starvation.
Losing 1 lb in a week is a great start. Don’t over exercise, or you’ll be sore, and won’t want to exercise anymore!
Eat more protein, tons of veggies, and limit your fat and sugar/fruit intake.
Also, no liquids except water. Drinks are a total waste of calories, and diet drinks actually make your thirst increase.
Exercise for 45-90 minutes each day, and do something different, or in a different order, every day. If you must rest, take off 1 day a week. But stick to healthy eating always, and you will maintain your thinness, once you achieve it. Good luck.

You give it one week on Weight Watchers, lose a pound and think it isn’t working? If you gained a pound, I’d understand your thinking. Tell me, how much do you WANT to lose in a week? Why do you want to lose it so fast? It’s unhealthy to lose weight very quickly. 1 – 2 lbs. a week is a healthy weight loss. If you worked out for an hour and 20 minutes and couldn’t walk for 4 days, then you worked out too hard for what your body is used to and should dial it down a notch. I would continue with Weight Watchers and 30 minutes a day of cardio. You can work up to longer workout sessions but for right now you need to start slow. Do some toning along with your cardio. This is probably not the answer you are looking for, but your body will get there in time…you just have to be patient and work hard at it. And remember at all times to be healthy!

    Good luck! 🙂

You really need to approach losing weight as a program. It is really a simple concept that is hard to execute. That is, less calories plus increase metabolism equals weight loss; however, you did not gain the weight overnight, so don’t expect to lose the weight overnight. That being said.
Drink plenty of water, stop drinking sodas if you do, reduce the fried foods, keep up regular exercise, don’t overdo it. You’ll stop exercising to recover and it will be harder to get going again. I would start with walking. Walk for 15 minutes at a speed that gets your heart pumping…don’t run…too much stress on joints. If you find yourself getting hungry, snack on vegetables. Don’t starve yourself or diet, you’ll just yo-yo up and down. You will probably feel some discomfort from your stomach shrinking, but drink some water, munch on some veggies. Good luck, be patient, and the pounds will come off and stay off.

Dropping lots of weight fast is not only distressing to your body, it also can lead to weight GAIN that is just as fast. The most effective way to lose weight and KEEP it off is to essentially reduce your caloric intake and increase exercise. As long as you follow those two rules, you will steadily lose weight.

Weight Watchers works for some people, but it takes a few weeks or even months for noticeable progress. This is because you’re changing your diet, and it takes your body a while to recognize this and begin burning fast cells for energy instead of storing it. I recommend you stay on your diet for at least 6 weeks before discounting its effectiveness.

Exercise is also very important! It’s great that you worked out for an hour and twenty minutes, but exercise is generally more effective in smaller increments. Try working out 3 times a week for 30 minutes each. Your body is all about cycles and habits. If you work out multiple times a week instead of just once, you’ll train your body to burn fat more frequently rather than storing it. If you only work out once a week, you will burn fat once out of every seven days, but you will store fat for the other six.

If you combine healthy eating with regular exercise, all it takes is time and dedication. The pounds will start to drop, you just need to maintain your routine and stick with it. It’s important not to lose weight too quickly, because this will cause your body to basically go into “fat-storing mode” since it thinks you’re losing too much of your fat reserves. As soon as you lose lots of weight quickly, your body will attempt to gain it back! Slow and steady wins the race!

    Hope this helps.

    Forget fast!

Do you see the box near the top of the page?
The one labelled ‘Search for questions: ‘?
    Well type in ‘lose weight’.
You will find over 493,128 pre-existing questions.
Try the misspellings ‘loose weight’ and there are another 113,731.
In all there are over half a million Health section questions requesting solutions to being or thinking you might be overweight.
On average these each yield 6 answers, that is over 3 and a half million answers.

I can usefully summarise these answers in 4 words :

EAT LESS DO MORE. Are you desperate enough to try this???
