How can I lose weight safely when I am trying to get pregnant?

I need to lose some weight, but I am trying to get pregnant. I am on clomid and seeing a fertility specialist. So, I could get pregnant at anytime. How can I do it safely and not harm my baby if I get pregnant and not know it?

Eat healthy, lots of fruits and vegetables, high fiber foods to fill you up. Cut out the junk and processed foods. Drink only water, not juice or sodas they’re just empty calories. Get 20-30 minimum minutes exercise everyday (even if it’s something like taking a walk after dinner or on your lunch hour).

There’s nothing wrong with walking, and running. Just as long as your not doing any strenuous lifting, or going into a sauna. It’s good to exercise and get healthy. Just don’t overexert yourself. While your trying to conceive it’s good to just act like your all ready pregnant to get your body prepared. Take prenatal vitamins, exercise and start eating right. Good luck!!! 🙂

Lots of water for starters. Bread, carbs at breakfast are okay, but none after that, or if you have to, take it easy. High protein, lots of green foods. Go w/ mustard in place of mayo. Grandma told me in regards to all dairy ” A minute on the lips, forever on the hips!” And walk, don’t take on any serious exercise. Good Luck!!

When dieting, you should never do anything that is harmful enough to hurt your body period. You need to focus on either losing the weight or getting pregnant. Doing both, in my opinion, is just too much stress. Which is more important to you? If you get down to your ideal weight and then get pregnant, you will gain the weight right back and still be facing the body issues you face now. My suggestion, exercise and eat well. Don’t stress too much about your weight. You have enough to worry about with getting pregnant. Accept your body now, the way it is, because once you have a baby, it will change forever. And those changes can be even harder to accept than a few extra pounds. As long as you eat well and exercise, you are doing enough. Good luck and remember to enjoy the journey and don’t get too caught up in conceiving. Half the fun is making the baby 😉
