How can I lose weight fast but accurately? What things do I need to focus on the most?

Im over-weight and I really need to lost weight but its hard, and it takes forever to lose just one freakin pound! I dont know what to do! Sometimes I get confused, and sometimes, I just want to give up because I dont seem to be accomplishing anything! HELP!!!

    You’re right, it’s not easy, but if it’s important to you, you’ve got to stick with it–day in and day out. I lost 85 pounds five years ago, so I understand the problem.

    There’s two ways you could go and I think either way will work for you. First of all, my best suggestion is to learn to eat healthy.

    That means understand the food pyramid, the food groups, the recommended servings, etc. That is how you should eat for life! If you eat that way and have 3 small, healthy meals a day and 2 small, healthy snacks, you will lose weight. Each meal should be less than 400 calories and each snack should be about 100-150 calories. Eating highly nutritious foods is the key, so think in terms of lean protein, veggies, whole-grains, fruits, low-fat dairy, and heart-healthy oils.

    The second option is to do a short-term “drastic diet” that is designed to last for 2 weeks max. This would take off the most weight rapidly. There are several on the site under “Diet Plans” but my favorite is the 5-4-3-2-1 diet.

    You get to pick what you eat, but you’re going to want to pick highly nutritious foods to keep your metabolism working efficiently.     Make water your main source of hydration and save the sweet drinks (even diet) for special occasions. Eliminate as much salt and sugar from your diet as you can.

    The biggest component to fast weight loss is going to be your workout. You will want to make sure you do a good cardio workout every day for weight loss (3 times a week is sufficient to maintain health). Activities that use the large leg muscles burn the most calories. These activities also tone the lower body quite effectively. Think in terms of
    power walking, jogging, biking, skating, swimming laps, jumping rope, dancing, racquetball, and jumping jacks. To make sure that you’re burning fat, you need to be sweating and huffing and puffing. In addition, do some good stretches and some strength training.

    To accomplish a goal, one must approach it with vigor- something must drive you to want to achieve this goal more than anyone else in the same shoes. You must tell yourself that you will not accept defeat, and that you are capable of anything you set your mind to.

    Ok, now that we have set the mood for which we will start this healthy new regimen, we will get our feet wet with answering your second question first.

    1. Even well renown doctors have used the term “You are what you eat”. This statement couldn’t be more true for the point being made. If a person wants a healthy body, he/she must feed the body with things that are healthy for it. EXAMPLE : Let’s imagine you own a 500,000 SPORTS CAR, would you put diesel gasoline in it, or would you put the gasoline it requires? The only answer anyone would ever give is that they would put the finest of unleaded gasoline into that gas tank of the Ferrari. I personally believe that your body is worth more than a Ferrari is, the only question is, are you feeding your biggest and most important investment the proper foods that it requires for it to run at maximum capacity? Currently, the answer is most likely NO.

    I can completely understand where you come from, and I was not always in awesome shape as I am now, but I want to help others achieve their dream, just like I am achieving mine with tremendous success. I use to be totally out of shape, and it bugged me, because I knew I wasn’t treating my body with the ultimate respect it deserves.

    Eating very healthy foods on a DAILY basis, and no longer “treating yourself” to some of those indulgences that you “might” be having a bit too often.

    Drinking water ona constant basis will give you a more full feeling on a constant basis, as well as it will help flush osme of those toxins in your body out. If you want something to speed the process up a bit when getting rid of toxins, I can personally vouge for DUAL ACTION CLEANSE…..sold at health food stores~ like GNC.

    Also, I know that sometimes water doesn’t taste too appealing. Using those small little packets made by Propel or Crystal Lite is a healthy way to enjoy “FLAVOR” without comprimising this new healthy lifestyle you plan on starting.

    I know exactly how you feel, I love something with good flavor, and nothing bland.

    1. Meats —-stay away from fatty cuts of meat, and only buy the EXTREMELY LEAN cuts. As far as flavor, feel comfortable picking up some dry seasonings you can mix in with olive oil and baste onto the meat before you slap it on the GRILL/ George Foreman.

    2. Veggies can be boring if you dont season them correctly, and there are many low-calorie seasonings available to moderatly sprinkle on the veggies to add that “extra zest” to your greens.

    3.Salads are Great, but one can quickly RUIN the healthy title of a salad by what one adds to the salad. A few sprinkles of lowfat cheese is ok, but let your conscience be your STRICT guide. Bacon bits are a huge NO NO. There are other unhealthy things a person can add to their salad, but seeming as how I totally avoid thoughts about all the “fixings” of an elaborately unhealthy salad, because the more you think about unhealthy foods, the more one has to fight the craving not to give into temptation. DRESSINGS : Chances are, you probably enjoy Ranch as much as I do, and my best suggestion is picking up the lowest fat ranch dressing you can find…….dont punish yourself though……Hidden Valley is the best in flavor, and they have a healthy option Ranch dressing.

    SNACKS: I typically pick up a protein bar and start chewing on that, as protein is a good “filler” and that helps me stay away from something I know I shouldn’t have anyway. Eating carrot sticks and celery are also great ways to satisfy those snack cravings.

    These diets you hear about totally avoiding carbs are ill-given, and to be totally disregarded. Carbs can be good, but most people simply choose the wrong type of Carb,and that is what you want to avoid–The wrong type of carbs. For instance, what of the two options would you say to be the healthiest.
