    GYM GYM GYM!
That’s it, be in the gym like for 5 hours each day.
You can’t lose weight without working hard.

P.S. You are thirteen, learn to spell (:

Mona Lisa- It annoys me too! I think young people don’t read anymore so they are not used to seeing words and how they are spelled. So with the word “lose” they end up spelling it phonetically, because it has a double O sound in it. Sad.

Before you even consider losing the weight, find out what the rules are in your state. Many states have rules that prohibit rapid or excessive weight lose for wrestlers.

The next thing to determine is if you actually have excess fat to lose. Your coach telling you that you don’t need to lose weight indicates that you may not and this would mean weight loss will be loss of muscle.

Last, rapid weight loss often causes people to be sluggish and lethargic. This isn’t a good asset for a wrestler.

Now, provided you really need to lose weight, the best way is to eat a healthy diet with lots of vegetables and a small amount of lean meat each day for protein. Wrestling practice will provide plenty of opportunity to get the exercise you need. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration (although most wrestlers cut water on the day of weigh in). You can add extra workouts that will benefit you like lifting weights or running stairs.
