No it doesn’t and it tastes horrible too. Plus it only made me gain weight because I was hungry more often.
For the same amount of calories and nutrition in a Slim fast with much better taste you can have a turkey sandwich with mustard and vegetables and a bowl or cantaloupe

go to slimfast.com they set up a meal plan for you for free! i have bene on it for 2 weeks and have already lost 6 pounds. make sure you stick to it though. They give you meal ideas and they add in their slim fast products. I feel great and i am supposed to lose 35 pounds by May. This may be the only diet that helped me!

It does help you lose weight, but it is more of a quick fix than a long time solution. I’d recommend replacing just one meal with Slim Fast in addditon to exercise, but not more. Oprah went on an all liquid diet, and lost about a 100 pounds, but then gained all of it back. So Slim Fast should help you, but you must be careful to not eat extra, and that when you go off it you don’t start guzzling food.

No, it makes you lose muscle not fat, so you end up not only starving, but a blob of fat without any muscle tone.

The 4 main ingredients are skim milk, sugar, fructose, and cocoa. In other words, milk, sugar, and sugar. Other ingredients include various vegetable oils, emulsifiers, and a dubious vitamin blend. A 375ml (1.5 cups) shake contains 12 grams of protein — slightly less than what you’d obtain drinking the same amount of 1% low-fat milk.

Since lean muscle mass requires calories at times of rest, the amount of muscle mass you maintain directly affects your metabolism in a positive way. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism. Unfortunately, the converse is also true — as you lose muscle mass, your metabolism drops. Fat on the other hand, being inert, has no effect on your metabolism.

The Slim Fast Diet is seriously, fundamentally flawed. It’s expensive and ineffective. The nutritious shakes are anything but — you’d be better off drinking low fat milk. Caloric levels are much too low, and muscle mass is threatened.

In the end, this diet continues to sell because of the marketing dollars behind it, the simplicity of the plan, and the general lack of dieting fundamentals by the buying public.
