Does anyone have a quick way to lose weight and ideas for distractions during the day?

I’m 16 and I weigh around 195 lbs. I always feel self-conscious around my friends but I don’t exactly feel fat. I don’t like that I’m unhealthy and I feel like I’d be happier if I weighed more of an average weight for my age and height. Unfortunately, I have a hard time with sticking to exercising and I almost kinda don’t want to admit that I have a problem and I need to work on it. I could easily cut out bad foods because we don’t have them around my house. My major problem is that I have snacks all the time. Not unhealthy snacks, but I do have a lot of them. I need something else to do with my time around the house that will keep me occupied and not thinking about my rumbling stomach. I’m also hoping to lose weight by the end of the summer so that I can be one of those miraculous summer transformations. I’ve always wanted to do that. Please say you have some way to help me!!

    Oh honey, I can so hear the pain in your question. I have struggled with my weight since the age of 16 also.

    I have a friend at work, her and I have been doing the Atkins diet. It really works and best of all, you get to eat foods that we were always taught were bad for us. I have lost 25 pound in just 6 weeks.

    I have done a version of the Atkins Diet. To date I have lost 65 lbs in four months. When it comes to eating food you need to ask yourself is this going to be good for me or not? When snacking try consuming half of what you would normally eat. Portion control is also important to much of healthy food can still lead to weight gain.

    When I get cravings for food I normally find something that I like to do; read a book, draw, play a video game, or just workout.
    The truth of the matter is that to lose weight you must eat a balanced diet and exercise at least three times a week. The time you exercise has no relevance. When it comes to exercising it is the intensity of the workout that matters.

    When I go out to eat I also look at what other people are eating, if they are a large person then I know that what they are eating is probably bad. I also tell myself that it is more important for me to be healthy than to have satisfied taste buds. We control our lives why should we let food control us.

    What you might also try to consider doing is finding out if you have any food allergies. Even if you don’t have a severe allergic reaction certain foods you eat may keep you from losing weight due to a slight food allergy. Some places that test you will also tell you what foods are best for you to eat to lose weight.

    Limiting your sugar consumption and starchy food consumption should help. Eating complex carbs is always better than the simple ones. Avoid fried foods lean meats are a good way to keep you full but don’t skimp out on your vegetables either. regardless of what people say not all fruits are created equal berries are the best fruit you can eat. Always have a package of peanuts or almonds handy for a snack as well they are quite satisfying.

    When choosing a diet you need to stick with it. It becomes a life process. And don’t worry about giving up all your favorite foods they will still be there when you lose your weight for an accasional treat.

    Keep eating healthy foods and snacks but eat in moderation take walks after eating, stay active.

    Go speak with a dietician about meal planning with your parents. Exercise can be boring for a 16 year old. So go walking with a friend around your school’s track. Go to swimming lessons or do water aerobics with a friend.

    If you normally drink coke,sprite,dr. pepper or any sodas that will pack on the weight. you should really try had to drink water, water, water even if you just drink water for 2 week NO sodas you will see a change in your self. even if its that you have more energy to walk, or just doing sit ups at night before bed. I can think of lots of little things you can do right at home that will help you trim up. ( lay on your side on the and just lift up you leg do that like 10x then do your other side that will help your sides and legs, do it every night. But like i said try to eat less sweets and chill with unnecessary carbs. now when i say that, that doesn’t mean all carbs are bad you have to have carb. carbs = energy just be smart about what you eat…. and DRINK WATER. i hope i could help sweetie and good luck
